In addition to his duties as a local MP for North East Hampshire, Ranil Jayawardena has been elected Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Sri Lanka, more succinctly known as the "Sri Lanka APPG"!
In that role, he was delighted to meet Mr Daya Gamage MP (UNP), Dr Anoma Gamage MP (UNP) and Mr Jayampathi Perea (The British-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce), alongside Conservative Friends of Sri Lanka.
Ranil said "The APPG is forward-looking. We believe that Sri Lanka has a bright future, as does the British-Sri Lankan relationship. Personally, I am very keen to support existing trade relationships and grow new ones, to benefit both the UK and Sri Lanka. From tea to trains, rubber to roads, there is much that our two countries can do together.
I look forward to visiting Sri Lanka soon, flying SriLankan Airlines direct from London, Heathrow to Colombo, Bandaranaike!"
