Selena was elected in the May 2021 local elections, replacing Liz Tomlinson who retired from Hart Council
"Hello! I hope that this finds you and your family well. These have certainly been trying times of late, but I believe that we, as a community, can come through to the other side stronger and more united.
My name is Selena and I hope that you will vote for me on 6th May to enable me to represent you as your Conservative Ward Councillor for Hook & Rotherwick.
I have lived in Hook since 2018, when I moved away from my childhood home in Buckinghamshire. My fiancé and I chose Hook because we wanted village life, not only with good access to London, but also the countryside and coast. I’m an outdoorsy person, and sport (in particular tennis) has been a constant theme throughout my life.
My time in Hook hasn’t been without its challenges, as the building I live in was converted from offices to flats via the Permitted Development Rights scheme. To tackle the significant challenges faced by the leaseholders, I started a Residents’ Association so that we could work together to rectify dangerous fire safety issues. This led me to working with both the Parish and District Councils; through this, I gained experience with the removal of illegal encampments, clearing up fly tipping, reporting anti-social behaviour and the Fire Safety Legislation, to name but a few!
I have always had a strong desire to help my local community and I am now at a point in life where I can do just that."
